Photography

The Photography courses, at each level, introduce students to a variety of experiences exploring a range of photographic techniques. Students explore relevant images, artefacts and resources relating to Photography and the wider range of art, craft and design. Students are encouraged to develop their ideas in a creative and personal manner and the department regularly takes students to exhibitions and various locations for photo shoots both in and out of lesson time.

Students have structured lessons where they are taught the functions of the camera. They are also able to work in a studio environment using professional lighting and backdrops.

Digital editing is taught using Adobe Photoshop. Students are also able to use video in their coursework. The department has a darkroom where students are able to learn traditional Black and white photographic printing techniques.
