Shows and Performances

The Periodicals

Students from Years 10 - 13 will perform The Periodicals in the Main Hall on Tuesday 16 April.

The Periodicals is set in the near future – a group of young people live as a feral group of techno-savvy fugitives, living off-the land which is a rubbish dump. They stay out of sight of the authorities – particularly the education authorities who are desperate to get them back into school because the optics are not good. However school has lost its allure. When the young people are in school they are overlooked and underestimated – seen as being more trouble than they are worth. So now, for this group, school’s out forever.

The group will be performing as part of Connections, the National Theatre's nationwide youth theatre festival. Every year, Connections gives youth groups the opportunity to stage new plays written for young people.

Autumn Term 2023/24

The Bishopshalt Operatic & Dramatic Society's performed School of Rock
on 30 Nov - 2 Dec 2023!
Rock got no reason, rock got no rhyme… You better get me to school on time!

The show followed Dewey Finn, a failed, wannabe rock star who decides to earn an extra bit of cash by posing as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. There, he turns a class of straight–A pupils into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping, mind-blowing rock band.

The show was a great success and our cast of talented students were amazing.  Please take a look at this year's NODA Review of the show here.

Based on the Paramount movie by Mike White. Book by Julian Fellowes. Lyrics by Glenn Slater. New Music by Andrew Lloyd Webber

The BODS show for 2022/23 was the ever-popular Sci-fi smash about a man-eating plant - Little Shop of Horrors.  It was a fantastic weekend of performances.  For a little taste of the show, have a look at our Image Gallery.

Spring Term 2023/24

Bishopshalt's annual dance extravaganza, Spring Reloaded, took place on Wednesday 20th of March in the Main Hall.

Our very talented dancers and choreographers from all year groups showcased their work, presenting dances from across all genres, as well as their own choreography.

The hard work they put into preparing the routines in their classes and clubs guaranteed a really amazing show.  This show is always a sell out so look out for ticket announcements for next year's show to avoid disappointment!
