Governors

We do not currently have vacancies on the Governing Body.

When seeking Governors we are particularly interested in experience in any of the following areas, we would like to hear from you:

  • HR
  • Legal
  • Building Project Oversight or Development
  • “Looked after” or SEND children

However, you DO NOT have to have a professional background, more importantly you need to have enthusiasm and a desire to support your child and their school, to be the very best they can be.

Think you do not know anything about education?  That does not matter, all you need is a willingness to learn.

What does a governor do? In short the five key responsibilities are:

  1. Setting ethos and values
  2. Holding leadership to account
  3. Balancing support and challenge
  4. Distinguishing between help and interference
  5. Taking responsibility for the Headteacher’s wellbeing

The Governing Body are keen to ensure that its members reflect the diverse community of Bishopshalt School.

If you would like to be considered as a parent governor please contact our Chair of Governors:
