Business Studies - BTEC Level 3 Diploma

Business Studies Business BTEC Level 3 Diploma  Miss King Edexcel BTEC Level 3 Diploma

This two year course provides the opportunity for students to explore the world of business in a highly practical way.  By adopting an investigative approach, students develop a range of skills while discovering the problems and opportunities faced by businesses.  Students will study the Diploma across Year 12 and Year 13 and is broadly equivalent to two A levels.

Entry Requirements

It is not necessary to have taken any particular GCSE subjects.  The nature of the course requires students to develop skills as independent learners; therefore high levels of motivation and attendance are essential.  A grade 5 at GCSE English and Maths is essential, along with three other good GCSE passes.

Course Aims

The content of this qualification has been developed in consultation with academics to ensure that it supports progression to higher education.  In addition, employers and professional bodies have been involved and consulted in order to confirm that the content is appropriate and consistent with current practice, for learners planning to enter employment directly in the business sector.  The qualification gives learners the knowledge, understanding and skills that underpin the business sector that will prepare them for further study or training.  This includes the opportunity for learners to choose two units from a selection of options to supplement the mandatory units, which reflect the key topics in business:

• marketing;

• international business;

• management;

• finance.
