Consultation on Admissions Policy 2026/27

Bishopshalt School will be consulting on proposed changes to its Admissions Policy for Year 7 entry in September 2027 and In-Year Admissions for the 2026/27 academic year.

Draft Admissions Policy 2026/27

Draft Sixth Form Admissions Policy 2026 entry

The proposed change is the addition of paragraph 5.3.3, which relates to Sixth Form sibling eligibility.

5.3.3. Students joining Bishopshalt Sixth Form who did not attend the school in Years 7–11 (i.e. 'external students') or those who were admitted under the Fair Access Policy, via managed moves or an EHCP, are not eligible for sibling preference. Applications for their siblings—unless they meet other published admissions criteria (e.g., Looked After Children or children of staff)—will only be considered under Criterion 4: Distance, as defined in the School’s admissions policy: “Children living nearest the School, measured in a straight line from the school to the child’s permanent home.”

The consultation period will run from 17 October 2025 to 12 December 2025.  All stakeholders are invited to submit comments which will be considered by the Board of Governors. Written comments can be sent to:
