Bishophalt 009

Why Bishopshalt?

With a student population of over 340 students, Bishopshalt Sixth Form offers a broad range of A level subjects and BTEC courses. We allow our students a free choice of A levels and place subjects into blocks only after the applications are received; more students get their first choices. We let students specialise should they choose to do so, allowing them to choose the Performing or Creative Arts, Sciences, Humanities, Social Sciences or a combination of these subjects. Results are based on sound teaching and a motivated student population.

A personal tutor ensures that students have regular contact and a strong relationship with a post 16 expert who will advise them on career and university choices and write their references. Our programme of assemblies and tutorials mean that students are well equipped with the skills, knowledge and aptitude to take their place and contribute to modern British society. Our Prefect system gives students the opportunities to take leadership responsibility at a young age and Senior Prefects are ambassadors for every aspect of school life.

We have fabulous facilities; the like of which are rarely seen in a state school. The Mansion building is a listed building and unique in North London. Students in the Sixth Form have sole access to the beautiful landscaped gardens and the upper echelons of the Mansion dwellings!

With a large percentage of our students applying each year to university, the Sixth Form team is well versed on the entrance criteria and pride themselves in the support offered to all students. Specialist help is available for Oxbridge, medical, dental and law students, but staff in school have also built up expertise in most subject areas from Dance and Acting to Politics, Art and Design. Helping students  secure places at the top universities is what the Sixth Form team does best!
